Steven Mayo is a senior risk manager in the private-equity business of Siemens Financial Services, the financing arm of Siemens. In this role, he makes and manages investments in energy-transition and infrastructure assets throughout the Americas region, in addition to serving on company boards. He was instrumental in creating and implementing the business’s sustainability program for its investments globally.
Prior to joining Siemens, Steven worked in the Structured Finance Division of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the country’s export-credit agency, where he began as an intern during his studies at GW. At Ex-Im Bank, he originated and underwrote loans around the world in various sectors, including renewable energy, telecommunications, and mining. Specifically, he was most proud of the financing for a wind farm in Honduras, providing clean energy in an economically-challenged environment.
Steven holds an M.A. in International Trade & Investment Policy from the Elliott School and an M.B.A. from The George Washington University School of Business. He received a B.A. in Spanish and a B.B.A. in finance from Mississippi State University. He lives in Boston with his partner, a GWSB alumnus as well.
