Basem M. Malhas is vice chairman, deputy managing director, and part owner of the Mediterranean Tourism Investment Company ((METICO), a Jordan-based firm that establishes and manages hotels, restaurants, and fitness and recreational sports centers. METICO owns and manages the Four Seasons Amman in Jordan. In addition, Malhas serves on the board of the Al-Mahmoudia Group, where he was deputy chairman from 2004 to 2020. He also founded the Rilam Property Development Company, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.   Malhas serves on the boards of a number of major commercial enterprises, including Jordan Ahli Bank and the Jordan Investment & Tourism Transport Company. Previously, Malhas served on the board at Palestine Commercial Bank, where he was chairman of the board’s executive committee.

Malhas started his career at HSBC Bank in London, UK, in 1996. In 1997, he returned to Jordan, where he joined the Arab Bank. He then established the Al Mahmoudia Vehicle Trading group, a subsidiary of the Mahmoudia Group, founded by his father. The firm is the sole official dealer of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles in the Kingdom of Jordan.  Malhas is a graduate of the GW School of Business. He is fluent in English and Arabic. His non-professional activities include aviation and swimming.
