Wenger Lecture on International Business and Finance
The Elliott School is grateful to the Henry E. & Consuelo S. Wenger Foundation for their generous support of the Wenger Family Lecture. The lecture series is named for the great-grandfather of Elliott alumna and I/WE Executive Circle member, Wellesley Parker. Henry Wenger was an international businessman who worked in the international financial sector in his native Switzerland before pursuing related professional opportunities in Europe and the U.S. He worked with companies that sought to expand their global footprints, and amongst other things, facilitated the raising of capital to achieve their business strategy. He held education to be paramount in the pursuit of self-improvement. To him, education, and apprenticeships involving international finance served as catalysts for his many successes. The Wenger Family Lecture series was endowed with the hope that it will serve as a platform for thought-provoking dialogue and a catalyst for exciting new academic and professional pursuits by the GW community in areas of global business and finance and that it may provide GW students a unique perspective on what a career in “international relations” may look like.
