Shelly Detmer enjoyed a successful career on Wall Street, which led to a senior  corporate role at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.      Following the merger with ITT Sheraton and acquisition of Westin, she initially held roles in Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, then served as a Corporate Controller for hotel operations before transitioning to tax, where she was the co-lead for all real estate and personal property taxes across North America.

A dedicated philanthropist and community leader, she is known for her extensive volunteer work in both the Los Angeles and Phoenix areas. She spent her early professional years in the financial sector, building a foundation in business that she later applied to family office investments  and nonprofit leadership. She has been a dedicated volunteer at Harvard-Westlake School, a prestigious independent LA school, and recently served as Executive Vice President of the Harvard-Westlake Parents’ Association, supporting institutional and community-building initiatives.

Beyond Harvard-Westlake, she contributes to organizations that address local community needs across the Greater Los Angeles area. Shelly splits her time between Pacific Palisades, California, and Paradise Valley, Arizona. She is active in Phoenix-area nonprofit organizations that focus on education and social services.
