Shoko Sekiguchi is Senior Vice President on the Sustainable Investing team at Citi Global Wealth Investments, Citigroup's private wealth division. With a focus on social issues within sustainable investing, Shoko authors thought leadership under the office of the CIO, offering expertise on a broad range of topics, from Gender Lens Investing in AI to community wealth. She also oversees product strategy for Investing with Purpose, Citi’s sustainable investing platform tailored for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and endowments. In this role, Shoko evaluates Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) attributes of investments across asset classes, including traditional and alternative strategies.

As a champion of Citi’s Action for Racial Equity (ARE) initiative, Shoko actively promotes Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within asset management. She identifies racial, ethnic, and gender-diverse managers with compelling investment opportunities and partners with investment managers to advance their DEI practices and ESG transparency.

Before joining Citi in 2022, for five years, Shoko served as an Impact Research Analyst at Domini Impact Investments, a pioneer in socially responsible investing. There, she specialized in ESG research and engaged with portfolio companies on material ESG issues, such as board diversity and human rights, contributing to transformative shifts in corporate practices. Before her tenure at Domini, Shoko founded Ampleen, a New York-based sustainability consultancy, guiding companies, nonprofits, and municipalities in integrating sustainability into their core strategies to address climate change.

Shoko currently serves on the Advisory Board of Diverse Investing Collective, a Tara Health Foundation initiative aiming for 33% of U.S. investable capital to be managed by diverse managers by 2033. She is also a Circle Lead for Investing for Better, a nonprofit dedicated to educating women about impact investing.

She holds numerous certifications, including LEED Green Associate, GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), ITIL, and Climate Reality Leader, reflecting her extensive knowledge in climate change, sustainability reporting, and community engagement. Originally from Tokyo, Japan, Shoko earned a master’s degree in international Affairs from George Washington University and a master in Linguistics from Sophia University in Tokyo.
